So, Who Exactly Is K. Woods?
Well if you aren't very familiar with who i am, let me be the first to introduce you to myself: I am an artist, a cultured young man, an intellectual writer, a thoughtful musician, an older brother, a mother's only son, the product of a South Side Chicago slum. Most of all, I'm just an ordinary man with extraordinary talents. Take a walk in my shoes. Listen to my music, view videos of my endeavors, and support my dreams as i fight to make them a reality

R.I.P. To The Almighty Guru
I want to take this time to send me respect to Keith Elam, better known as Guru, one half of the iconic hip-hop group Gangstarr. It seems Guru has lost a struggling battle with cancer. I myself have always been a fan of Gangstarr. From Guru's potent lyrics and delivery to Premo's classic production. My condolences go out to the family and friends.

Birthday Blues
April 9, 1987: The day that K. Woods was unleashed upon the earth.
Hard to believe that i've lived 23 long years. Usually I am very happy
when my birthday comes around. Yet, this year I'm just not feeling it.
Could it be my current position in life, not having any family around,
my mixtape not being completed as I had hoped? I think all of these
problems play a factor in my unhappiness, but there is something more.
I truy need a vacation. And not just a visit to see family(although
that trip is much needed as well). I need a vacation away from any and
everybody I know. Some alone time to reflect on my life. Compose my
mental. An opportunity to completely drop the load of stress I carry
on my back. Maybe...

B.O.B. ft. Bruno Mars "Nothin' On You"
Ive been following B.O.B. closely since he released his first single "Haterz Everywhere". Dude is definitely in his own lane, and i commend his artistry. From his own singles to being featured on songs with the likes of T.I. and Ludacris, B.O.B. is definitely making a name for himself. I think this single is the one that will get him mainstream recognition. Great song, great video, great artist.

I Need A Vacation....
I feel that i am very deserving of one. With all of the things I've been dealing with in the past 4 months (being assaulted, suffering a broken jaw, re-constructive surgery, losing my job, losing my apartment, financial problems, family dysfunction, etc.), i just need to get FAR away from the dealings of my "everyday life" and just have some alone time. I'm thinking a one bedroom hotel on a beach this summer. Maybe a good three day weekend type deal. Yeah....

On My Own
First and foremost, i want to say that i am EXTREMELY grateful for anything anyone has ever done for me. TRUE STORY!!! I wouldn't be where i stand today if it were not for the help of key individuals in my life. Now, with that being said, i miss living on my own. I have never been the type of person that was really comfortable sharing living space. I love my family dearly, and i have had good times with my roommates(pause), but i have more piece of mind when i am on my own. Its easier for me to think, to breathe, to live. I don't have to worry about other people's attitudes, helping people with their problems, or dealing with unwanted company. Not to sound selfish, this is just the truth. Unfortunately for me, i endured bad situations which set me back. I just pray to God that i will hop back on my feet soon and be able to once again enjoy the happiness of solitude. I don't know how much longer i can live sanely while having to depend upon others.....

Boundaries...
Relationships, friendships, families, personal.... Everything has boundaries. It is our duty to uphold these boundaries and ensure that they are not crossed. I believe the most commonly crossed boundaries are those pertaining to relationships. I must admit, i myself am guilty of not properly enforcing my relationship boundaries from the start the way i needed to. This has led to outside women trying there best to destroy the relationship i was sharing with whomever i was with at the time. Late phone calls, text messages referring to me as "babe" or "sweety", these are things that can quickly destroy the foundation of a relationship. I acknowledge my faults. I have since ended contact with any woman who does anything of the sort. I am trying as a man to end all outside interference as far as my relationships go.
Yet it isn't just the loose men/women that you may have casually talked to that will try this. "Friends" will eagerly try to sabotage your happiness with that special someone. And no I'm not talking about the friends that you have had since you were playing tag at recess(though some of these close people will take this dark path themselves, but that's another blog). I'm referring to the ex boyfriends/girlfriends that portray themselves to genuinely care about your happiness with the next person, while in reality plotting their own selfish interference. The key here is for us to wisely pick up on what they are doing before our partner becomes aware of the schemes, otherwise you open a whole new plateau of problems that NOBODY wants to deal with.
Remember, you don't physically have to see this person to be aiding them in their wrong doings. Sometimes all it takes is a simple conversation for you to allow the damage to take place. So lets fight for what is important to us. Living in your past can hinder your present, which subsequently destroys any prospect for your future...

Lil' Wayne Jail Sentence Postponed
Today, February 9th, Lil' Wayne is scheduled to begin serving a one year sentence in New York's Riker's Island for attempted criminal possession of a weapon. In a court appearance this afternoon, the judge postponed this sentencing date until March 2nd to allow Wayne time to receive "dental surgery".
Now, i am all too familiar with entertainers and other wealthy individuals receiving "special treatment" when it comes to the judicial system because of there financial status. Yet, i am extremely appalled by the decision of the supreme court on this one. I mean, why even enforce this sentence if it can easily be postponed for something as idiotic as oral surgery? This sentence was initially given to Wayne after he plead guilty to this charge back in October. So you're telling me that he was TOO BUSY in the past 4 months to get his mouth taken care of? The average joe receives a 3-5 years for the same charge. Yet we are living in a country where every man is treated equally???
***Sidenote****
I am not just attacking Wayne. I'm upset with every single actor, musician, congressman, business, etc. that receives lighter sentences. This particular situation stands out to me the most because of his excuse. So i don't want any of you Lil' Wayne dick riders.... i mean "fans" trying to get upset. If you dont like what i have to say, get off my blog!!!

Reminisce Over 'Ye
I thought this was funny as hell. If you listen to what these guys are saying though, its all true. Kanye helped Little Ms. Swifty become a household name with a bunch of different audiences she would have NEVER reached on her own, and in return he was depicted as the son of Satan. A little overboard perhaps???
